Top 6 Project Management Methodologies!

Project managers can use a variety of project management approaches to manage the five stages and ensure a successful outcome, depending on the industry, objectives, and stakeholder requirements. The following are some of the most well-known:

  • Agile

Agile is commonly utilised in software projects, but it's also growing increasingly popular in other areas, such as marketing. It entails iterative work in small bursts known as "sprints." The job is timed, and the team completes as much as they can before moving on to the next set of requirements. Scrum, extreme programming, and crystal, among other methodologies, were developed using Agile concepts.

  • Scrum

Scrum is a project management methodology based on brief "sprints." It's best for project management teams of no more than ten people, and it's frequently tied to two-week cycles with brief daily scrum sessions. A Scrum Master is in charge of the project. Scrum is an agile framework that includes time limits, interactive team interactions, a product backlog, and feedback loops.

  • Waterfall

The waterfall model is a method of delivering work that follows a set of steps. The project manager gathers the requirements from the stakeholders, creates the design, constructs the solution, tests and implements it, and finally moves it to the maintenance stage.

  • Lean

Since the introduction of the Lean Start-up movement, which favors an iterative approach to product development and entails bringing in end-users early and regularly for input on the project's delivery, the term "lean" has come to mean a couple of things. Traditionally used in project management, Lean PM is a method of removing waste from processes and ensuring that all parties involved collaborate efficiently. It eliminates downtime by streamlining handoffs between teams. Working on only one project at a time is a common element of lean working.

  • Kanban

Kanban is a visual project management method. It organizes workflow by putting tasks on a Kanban board so that everyone can see how things are progressing. Kanban reduces inefficiencies and has been used in Agile projects to schedule lean manufacturing. With the advent of visual planning boards in software such as Trello in our era, Kanban tools and methodologies have found new applications. Kanban boards are used by agile teams to storyboard user stories and plan backlogs in software development.

  • Six Sigma

Six Sigma aims to increase project quality by discovering what isn't functioning. It hires individuals who are experts in these subjects and uses quality management, including empirical statistics. There is a Lean Six Sigma method that combines lean methodology with a lean methodology to eliminate waste. As a doctrine, it states that the most crucial factor in achieving success is to maintain consistent and predictable results. It is possible to define and improve processes. To maintain quality in a project, it needs the entire organization, from the top down.
