5 Guidelines to ace the PMP Exam

PMP exam requires a comprehensive training program to help you prepare and obtain the certification. Preparing for the certification can be a daunting task.   1. A clear idea of the Exam Blueprint. There are 2 ways to appear for the examination: Computerized and Paper-based. In both cases, there are 200 multiple-choice questions with 4 hours of the allotted time to complete them. And as 60% is the pass percentage, you will need to get approximately 138 questions right. There are no scheduled breaks during the allotted time. Following are the domains present in the examination:

  • Planning – 24% - 48 questions.

  • Initiating – 13% - 26 questions.

  • Executing – 30% - 60 questions.

  • Monitoring & Controlling – 25% - 50 questions.

  • Closing – 8% - 16 questions.

  1. Practice 24X7. The exam meets your time and budget and it itself is kind of a project. There are several websites that are available and provide free exam simulators and mock tests that you need to practice every now and then. The routine of PMP training, mock tests and simulators acquaint you with the type and length of the questions. Time management is also the key and you need to answer all the questions, manage them accordingly. Avoid spending too much time on a single question, mark the doubtful ones and reserve the last 15 minutes to review them.

 

  1. Take the required PMP Exam prep-course.
